Brothers Jamie and Sammy Austin have agreed to play for Orange CYMS Cricket Club in the 2022-23 season.

The talented all-rounders come from Canowindra and have played their cricket in the Lachlan competition in recent seasons.

In 2021-22 they represented Molong in the Rod Hartas Cup, including a game against Orange played at Riawena Oval where they excelled, hitting half centuries each.

Several CYMS players were in that defeated Orange side and were impressed by the brothers' efforts, and so during the off-season the club approached them about playing in green and gold this season.

The brothers have been driving across to Orange for preseason training on Monday evenings and have impressed one and all with their talent and work ethic.

Speaking to the Central Western Daily in early August, Jamie said the pair had enjoyed the transition to a new club.

"It's really good facilities here and everyone's really friendly and we feel like we've fit in right from the start which is what you want when you join a new club," he said.
