A sparkling Joey Coughlan century has powered Orange CYMS's First Grade side into a dominant position after day one of their BOIDC clash with Orange City.
Taking advantage of a hot day and good Wade Park batting deck, Coughlan monstered City's attack for 105 runs off 135 balls to steer the team to a total of 306 by the end of the day.
Coughlan said he was pleased to raise the bat for three figures, something that seemed a remote possibility only a few months ago.
"It's been a lot of hard work, I had an injury that put me out for four months mid-way through last year, I didn't know if I was going to be playing cricket," he said.
"It's good to give back to a club that's been so welcoming and get some form and keep going on."
Dave Neil was the next top-scorer, hitting 66 off 84 balls in the middle order, amply supported by Tom Belmonte (27) and Rory Daburger (36).
Play will resume at Wade Park next Saurday.
